Srinagar, Oct 9: The Jammu and Kashmir administration headed by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday stated that 25000 vacancies in the Union Territory will be filled soon. The number includes 10000 jobs already advertised by the government.
in a tweet, Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha said that the government is working on fulfilling the assurance given by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi about 50,000 jobs to the unemployed youth in Jammu and Kashmir.
“A Comprehensive Plan is in offing for filling up of 25,000 vacancies with 10,000 posts already advertised. The UT Government is also working on fulfilling the assurance of 50,000 jobs given by the Hon’ble Prime Minister @narendramodi,” Sinha tweeted.
In his another tweet, Sinha stated that the recruitment rallies for Central Armed Police Force (CAPF), paramilitary forces and Jammu and Kashmir police shall also be conducted across the Union Territory.
“Central Armed Police Force, Paramilitary Forces and JKP recruitment rallies shall also be conducted across the UT. The Government is laying special focus on connectivity to every village and every household,” he tweeted.

Jammu, Oct 9: Public participation is the soul of Back to Village programme, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha reiterated during his visit to the border Panchayat, Pallanwala in Jammu District.
He said that Rural-Urban divide is being minimized with J&K Government’s ambitious Back to Village initiative.
The Lt Governor, while addressing a large gathering there, observed that the same set of official machinery has delivered amazing results under Jan Abhiyan and Back to Village programme, proving that with right intentions and eyes on the goal, we can achieve new heights of development. ‘With this ambitious Back to Village initiative of the Government, Rural-Urban divide will be minimized’, he added.
‘I am not here to make new promises, but for optimum implementation and utilization of funds. Let the public and the government meet and discuss their priority projects and begin a new era of rapid development. I believe in action-based implementation’, said the Lt Governor.
Absence of governance and inaccessibility of officers have long marred our villages. Back to Village is an attempt to bridge this gap and during the past one month, officers and the public have displayed bilateral enthusiasm in it. It is the duty of the officers to take up the responsibility and help eliminate the lacunae. Dialogue alongwith public’s feedback is the bedrock equitable, inclusive development and transparent governance.
And, when you visit these villages you must examine the crucial growth drivers in that particular region. Since we need to bring equity, growth and inclusion in our villages and also sustain it, we must focus on basic services, infrastructure facilities to kick start a growth process which increases citizen participation while fixing the accountability from top to the bottom’, the Lt Governor maintained.
‘Development is not possible without ‘funds, functions and functionaries’ and we have enough of them. With dedication, all of these could be implemented on ground for the betterment of the public’, he added.
Being an agriculture oriented region, it would be ensured that all 9 farmers-oriented schemes of the Government reach the workforce here, said the Lt Governor.
He also stressed on the need to reduce monsoon dependency of farmers in J&K. He informed the public about installing Solar Pumps and Micro Irrigation Schemes initiated by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.
Expressing his resolve of doubling farmers’ income in the coming two years, the Lt Governor said that the same could not be achieved without sincere efforts in implementation of Government’s schemes on ground.
Highlighting the problems faced by farmers with small holdings, the Lt Governor observed that they could be eliminated with infusion of new technology at the block level.
The Lt Governor observed that two aspiring entrepreneurs from each panchayat are being identified, provided handholding and monetary assistance to start their business venture. ‘Even if 8500 such youths are supported’, said the Lt Governor, ‘and if they each provide livelihood to at least five others, we could have at least 40 thousand jobs under the initiative’.
“Rs 25,000 cr industrial investments is in the offing and J&K is going to secure this huge investment after announcement of a historic Industrial soon”, he added.
‘My objective is maximum utilization of Industries, Manufacturing, service sector, Village industries, Handicraft, tourism and technology to create more jobs in rural areas of Jammu Kashmir because I believe there is vast yet untapped talent pool in our villages waiting for an opportunity’, the Lt Governor affirmed.
He called for 100% saturation in four different employment related schemes of the Government, besides all social security schemes including scholarships and pensions etc.
Speaking on the New Education Policy, he laid stress on evolution of a students-teachers’ feedback system. ‘To enable youngsters to participate in the mainstream economy, it is crucial that all governmental schemes of education sector are implemented properly on ground’, said the Lt Governor.
There is great potential in horticulture, animal husbandry and food processing sectors in the region, and therefore we need to motivate the public here to take up food processing ventures with the government’s support.
The Lt Governor said that every panchayat has been provided two garbage bins during Back to Village 3. Two sanitation workers are also to be engaged in each panchayat for its cleanliness under MGNREGA. He announced that each panchayat in of Jammu & Kashmir would be provided a bio digester by next year to further the cause of Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan.

LG inaugurates various developmental works

Jammu, Oct 9: During the ongoing Back to Village-3 programme, Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha today visited the border Panchayat of Pallanwala in Khour area of Jammu District.
Reiterating UT Government’s commitment towards initiating massive development in the rural section of J&K, the Lt Governor, on the occasion, inaugurated and laid foundation stones of various developmental works under different schemes for Panchayats Pallanwala, Khour and Kharah. He dedicated the newly executed developmental works to the people of the respective Panchayats.
Foundation stone for Water Supply Scheme, Narbera Panchayat Batal under NRDWP was also laid by the Lt Governor.
To mark the occasion, the Lt Governor handed-over Scooty and Wheelchairs to specially-abled persons; financial assistance, certificates & seed money to female folks of Self Help Groups and sanction letters to beneficiaries under MPEGP and other departmental schemes. He also distributed, Kisan Credit Cards, Sports Kits, PMAY kits etc. to the beneficiaries.
Annual Action plan MGNREGA & 15th FC 2021-22 for Pallanwala Lower Panchayat was also unveiled by the dignitaries on the occasion.
The Lt Governor inspected the stalls installed by different departments for spreading awareness about various schemes of their respective departments.
He also interacted with the beneficiaries and sought their feedback on the on-ground implementation of the schemes envisaged by the Government for the welfare of the people.
The Lt Governor observed that the one of the key objectives of J&K Government’s Back to Village initiative is to ensure that beneficiary schemes actually reach the last person in the queue and villages as well as its people are empowered.
The locals of the Panchayat and the adjoining villages participated in the Back to Village programme in large numbers and lauded the J&K Government for putting in dedicated efforts to reach out to the rural population with the agenda of development and governance at the door steps of rural J&K.

Jammu, Oct 9: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha Friday inaugurated Bawa Jitto Kisan Kendra and Agriculture Mall at Talab Tillo, Jammu.
In his address, the Lt Governor said that this much awaited infrastructure would serve the farming community by providing them a point to meet and get trained on latest techniques and technologies used in Agriculture.
He said the welfare of the farmers is one of the focus areas of the Government and efforts are underway for doubling the income of farmers.
He informed that all the farmers have been linked with PM KISAN initiative irrespective of their land holdings, which is proof of the government’s commitment towards the community.
Highlighting the significance of agriculture in Indian economy, the Lt Governor said that despite Covid crisis, Indian agriculture sector continued to thrive.
He called for inviting progressive farmers and agriculture scientists from all over the country for discussion and training programmes for the benefit of local farmers.
He also called for generating awareness about all the nine schemes of the Government aimed at welfare of farmers.
Sinha announced that the present dispensation has done away with restrictions on apple cultivation and that under the new regime, all are free to set apple orchards anywhere in J&K, subject to favourable agro-climate conditions.

Poonch: Woman injured in cross LoC shelling
Jammu, Oct 9: A woman sustained injuries in ceasefire violation by the Pakistani army in Kirni-sector in Poonch district, officials said on Friday.
A defence official said that Pakistani Army resorted to unprovoked CFV in Qasba-Kirni sector of Poonch district by firing small arms and other weapons. “A woman sustained injuries after she was hit by a splinter at her house in Qasba village,” he told KNO.
The injured woman was identified as Hameeda Begum aged 40 years, wife of Ghulam Mohiudin, resident of Qasba village of Poonch. “Intermittent exchange of firing was on between the armies of India and Pakistan,” the official said.
SSB man goes missing from Saderbal camp

Srinagar, Oct 9: A Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) man went missing mysteriously from his camp at Saderabal area of Srinagar city.
An official told KNO that SSB man identified as Jitendra GD number 12043026, posted at Saderabal, who originally hails from Uttar Pradesh, went missing from his camp on Thursday evening.
In this regard, a missing report has been filed at Police Station Lal Bazaar while efforts are on to trace the missing trooper, the official added. “We are ascertaining details,” said a police official.
14-year-old boy shot at, injured
Srinagar, Oct 9: Gunmen on Friday evening shot at a 14-year-old boy in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Official source told GNS that unknown gunmen fired upon the youth in Lethpora Awantipora after heated argument over some issue.
They said that the boy identified as Kushdil Gulzar son of Gulzar Ahmad Dar received bullet in arm and was subsequently shifted to SDH Pampore for treatment. After first aid he was immediately discharged from hospital, they said. Meanwhile police has initiated investigation in this regard, they added.
2 Agriculture officials suspended for running private business

Srinagar, Oct 9: The government has suspended two officials for their alleged involvement in running private business despite being the government servants in violation to service conduct rules.
The suspended employees are officials working in Department of Agriculture.
An order vide number 254 dated 29/9/2020 in this regard has been issued by Director Agriculture Kashmir Syed Altaf Aijaz Andrabi.
The order reads: “Pending Inquiry for their involvement in running private business being the Government servants which is in violation to service conduct rules of 1971, Ghulam Mohammad Masoodi, Subject Matter Specialist (SDL) Khansahib and Syed Ishtaq Hussain Bukhari, Agriculture Extension Assistant Zone Lalpora Sub Division Tangmarg are hereby placed under suspension with immediate effect and shall remain attached with concerned Chief Agriculture Officers.”
Chowdhray Mohammad Iqbal, Joint Director Agriculture (Extension) Kashmir was appointed as Inquiry Officer to conduct an in-depth inquiry and directed to submit report to for further course of action. (KNT)
Lifters steal Alto car leave behind another stolen Alto car

Pulwama, Oct 9: In a strange incident, a car lifter stole a vehicle but left his own vehicle behind.
Police said the vehicle left behind by the car lifter seems to be stolen one.
Police sources said during the intervening night of Thursday and Friday, a car lifter stole an Alto car (DL2CQ/4893) in Drangbal area of Pampore.
The owner of the stolen vehicle Shabir Ahmed Rather, a resident of Ratnipora Pulwama informed police the car lifters left behind another Alto car (JK)4A/2991), that also seems to be a stolen one.
Police seized the car and started investigation after registered a formal case with regard to the incident. (KNT)
I&B ministry asks private satellite TV channels to adhere to programme code
New Delhi, Oct 9: The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on Friday asked all private satellite television channels to adhere to the Programme Code and emphasised that no programme should criticise, malign or slander any individual or certain groups.
The advisory comes in the wake of actor Rakul Preet Singh’s plea in the Delhi High Court alleging defamatory programmes being run against her in connection with a drugs probe related to the Sushant Singh Rajput death case.
In its advisory, the ministry said on various occasions in the past, it has issued advisories to private satellite TV channels to broadcast content strictly adhering to the Programme and Advertising Codes as prescribed under the Cable Television Networks (Regulation) Act, 1995 and the rules framed thereunder.
Attention is drawn to the provisions of the Programme Code as per which no programme should contain anything obscene, defamatory, deliberate, false and suggestive innuendos and half truths, the advisory said.
As per the Code, no programme should criticise, malign or slander any individual in person or certain groups, segments of social, public and moral life of the country, the ministry said.
All private satellite TV channels are requested to ensure compliance with the directions above, it said.
The high court had, in its September 17 order, said, It is hoped that the media houses and television channels would show restraint in the reporting and abide by the provisions of the Programme Code as also the various guidelines, both statutory and self regulatory, while making any report in relation to the petitioner.
