This innovative train, with its multiple coach configuration and advanced winterisation technologies, has been developed to operate efficiently and successfully through Jammu & Kashmir’s extreme winters. The Vande Bharat will facilitate improved tourism and economic development in the region.
This innovative train features cutting-edge winterisation technologies such as heated water tanks and bio-toilets designed to prevent freezing during winter operations as well as heated windshields to enhance passenger safety while travelling through snowy weather conditions.
The use of this innovative train will provide access to deep in the valleys of Kashmir by operating over the iconic Chenab Rail Bridge, the highest arch bridge in the world.
With the ability to operate with more than three dozen coach rakes in the initial service launch period, this new service will provide substantially reduced travel times, and therefore improved connectivity and economic opportunity.
The Vande Bharat service will be a key component of the infrastructure in Kashmir, providing a safe, reliable and efficient alternative to the National Highway provided the same services, especially in the winter months.
This will be a significant new contribution towards both regional development as well as the integration of nations by providing an opportunity for people across borders to travel together and become engaged citizens in their respective countries.
The Vande Bharat Express is specifically designed for use as part of this project and is a very different kind of high-speed train than the traditional ones used in India.
Through its ability to handle the many challenges facing Northern India through its design and construction, such as heavy snow fall and extremely low temperatures, the Vande Bharat has a number of new capabilities, including advanced technology and engineering features designed specifically for use by railways when it comes to providing services to customers during times of severe weather conditions.
By providing adequate service between these cities, the Vande Bharat will ensure that there continues to be reliable transportation available when needed.
When the first whistle blows in April, it will mark the beginning of accessibility to both travel and prosperity through the use of this train, as well as provide a new way to further strengthen ties between each other along the route of travel.
