Ensuring welfare

With an aim to ensure safety and welfare of the students, the decision of government to start early schooling to evade the prevailing heat wave is a welcome step that not only resembles the commitment but also the concerns towards the learners.

There were many cases wherein the students were seen feeling dizzy and fainting because of the ongoing heat wave but the decision of government has provided a sigh of relief to the students.

Apart from reducing the schooling amid peak heat wave hours, directives of holding morning assemblies somewhere in shadow or anywhere wherein the sunlight will be avoided will further help the students in reducing their energy.

However, it must be noted that the change in school timing shouldn’t affect the academics of the students. There is a need to ensure that each and every minute is counted for the benefit of the students.

Apart from this, the students must be educated as to how they can stay energetic and there shall be the proper counselling and guidance to beat the heat.

Announcing the change in school timing was a significant decision amid the administration as well the medicos had issued an advisory to evade the heat strokes and other health concerns.

The parents of the students shall ensure that the students are not kept safe only in schools but also at their respective homes. They must ensure that their kids are properly hydrated and not exposed to the direct sunlight during the peak hours in the afternoon.

The government’s decision to change the timing instead of announcing the vacations would save the academic time and will work in accordance with the annual academic calendar.

Howeve, it is high time for the government to ensure all the educational institutions are equipped with the proper arrangements to tackle the prevailing weather conditions for the wellbeing of the students as well as the staff. Moreover, the government needs to ensure that the directions passed in this regard are followed in letter and spirit.
