Boosting student welfare

The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has done an excellent job by constituting a grievance-redressal cell for the annual regular examinations.

This is a wise decision of JKBOSE reflecting transparency, accountability, and most importantly, taking care of the students’ interests that have been put into the examination.

Examinations are a crucial time for the students, and any kind of uncertainty in the examination schedule, admit cards, answer sheets, re-evaluation, and results can cause distress among the students and parents.

With the new initiative, the students do not need to go through the hassle of approaching multiple authorities for grievances related to the examinations.

Instead, a proper cell has been set up for the students to raise and address their concerns.

The new grievance-redressal cell of JKBOSE is of paramount importance because it makes the students feel empowered.

It reassures the students that the board will listen to them and take action accordingly.

The cell has been established to ensure timely redressal of the grievances and mitigation of the problems of the stakeholders that may crop up during the course of examinations.

The cell will record grievances for timely disposal and prompt corrective interventions. It will record complaints, ensure their timely disposal and take corrective action wherever required. This will be under the direct supervision of the Secretary, JKBOSE.

JKBOSE has exhorted upon the centre superintendents and their supervisory staff to uphold the integrity of the examinations and ensure the same are carried out fairly, transparently and orderly.

By setting up the cell, JKBOSE has made the process of addressing examination grievances faster and transparent. This will help build trust between the students and the board. The cell will bring efficiency and responsibility to the examination system, making things easier for students and parents, especially those from far-off areas.

In conclusion, JKBOSE has taken a step in the right direction by addressing the students’ concerns through a proper grievance-redressal cell during the examination period. The Board should be commended for bringing a change that prioritizes students, making them feel heard and valued. People hope this new initiative reaches out to every student in Jammu and Kashmir and brings transparency and efficiency to the examination system.
