A path to lasting peace and prosperity The youth of Kashmir are at a single point where they must choose between waiting for things to get better on their own or trying to change the futility surrounding them.
For quite a while, there has been no shortage of visions, only action. Kashmir, which has suffered the effects of violence for decades, has much to gain from new leaders—young leaders who are ready to change their circumstances.
This type of leadership must be supported by good politics, cooperative politics, and a positive change. Good politics should be able to help the society in moving in the right direction where there will be no discrimination, violence, or poverty.
Instead, the principles of good governance, respect, and inclusivity for every individual should be applied. This type of governance should be able to flip the changes in a matter of a few years.
After the adoption of good governance, there will be at least minimal hostility or any forms of conflicts that will be directed towards the people and state. The youth will be empowered through proper educational and entrepreneurial opportunities.
The Potential of Kashmiri Youth Kashmir’s adolescent native generatie, over two million, is ready to use their education; life experience and skills to bring a positive change in the future of Kashmir.
Many include doctors, engineers and business graduates but good education has not changed much this generation’s political views. This can only mean that, even if they do survive the political instability and economic situation, this generation will remain fluid and well connected to the outside world through the rise of the internet.
However, the youth in Kashmir also have an equally harsh situation. Unemployment is widespread, and most of the graduates can’t find any decent jobs. Political instability and a social climate of conflict in the region have hampered their chances of advancement. The youth are always in a dilemma wanting to do better for them.
