Dr Bilal stresses transparency in revenue services

Reviews preparedness for upcoming SANJY-2026

ANANTNAG, APRIL 06: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Dr. Bilal Mohiud Din Bhat Monday visited the Mini Secretariat Bijbehara and reviewed the functioning of the Revenue Department.

Reviewing the digitisation work, the DC took stock of the status of Jamabandi records from the Patwaris. Emphasis was laid on maintaining accuracy and ensuring that back log mutations are completed within the stipulated time frame.

The DC stressed the importance of transparency and efficiency in revenue services so that the public avail the same in a fair and convenient manner.

During the visit, many public delegations including Transporter, Trade and Bar Associations met the DC and put forth various concerns and demands. He gave them a patient hearing and assured that their genuine issues will be redressed in a time bound manner.

Later accompanied by ADC, SDM Bijbehara, CMO and other officers, Dr. Bilal visited SDH and Trauma Hospital Bijbehara to assess the healthcare facilities being provided to the patients.

At SDH, various sections including OPD, Wards, OT, Labour Room, MICU, Registration, Jan Aushudhi and stores were inspected while at TH, AYUSH facilities and working of other sections of SDH operating from there, were reviewed in detail. The Medical Superintendent of these hospitals briefed the DC about the patient load, medical supplies, referrals and other critical aspects.

At both hospitals, the DC interacted with the patients and enquired about the quality of supplies and services offered. He expressed satisfaction in their overall functioning and issued directions to ensure standard patient care, availability of essential services and compliance to medical SoPs, at these vital health institutions.

Further, the DC visited the Veterinary Hospital Bijbehara, being constructed under NABARD RIDF 27 at an approved cost of Rs 4.77 Crore and took stock of the pace and quality of ongoing work.

Executive Engineer R&B Anantnag informed that the project is expected to be completed by June 2026, ahead of its timeline. Giving details, he said the building has facilities of OT, Artificial insemination Lab, Farmers’ Training Hall besides Oficial Accommodation and Crate Room.

Deputy Commissioner (DC), Anantnag (Yatra Officer Pahalgam Axis), Dr. Bilal Mohiud Din Bhat also conducted an extensive inspection of the Yatri Niwas at Subhanpora Bijbehara to review the status of infrastructure and preparedness for the upcoming SANJY-2026.

The project, executed under the aegis of ONGC, has the capacity to accommodate 1,500 pilgrims and will be utilized to facilitate the stay of Yatris, as per actual requirement.

On the occasion, the DC took a detailed stock of the macadamization of the approach road being undertaken by the R&B Department, at an approved cost of Rs 41 lakh. It was informed that the work has already been tendered out and physical execution will commence before the holy pilgrimage.

The DC issued on spot directions to the concerned executing agencies to ensure timely completion of approach road and the associated drainage works to prevent any inconvenience to the pilgrims. He also emphasized the importance of maintaining high-quality standards and strict adherence to other guidelines.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), SDM Bijbehara, Executive Engineer (Exen) R&B, and several other officials accompanied the DC during his visit.
