Baramulla, Mar 25: Police in Baramulla on Wednesday safely disposed of a live artillery shell in the forest area of Kalgai in Uri after receiving specific information.
In a statement police spokesperson said, Baramulla Police successfully ensured the safe disposal of a live artillery shell in the forest area of Kalgai, Uri, after receiving credible information.
Upon receipt of the information, a police team from PS Uri promptly reached the spot, secured the area, and took all necessary precautionary measures. Subsequently, the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) team of Baramulla Police was deployed, which safely neutralized and disposed of the live artillery shell in accordance with established safety protocols, it reads.
Baramulla Police urges the general public to remain vigilant and immediately inform the nearest police station about any suspicious or explosive material, while strictly avoiding handling such objects.
