Notary Portal in J&K soon

 Srinagar, March 03: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir, through the Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs (Notary Section), has directed all concerned stakeholders to furnish requisite data and information within one week for the launch of the Online Notary Portal in the Union Territory of J&K.

According to an official communication issued to the Director Litigation, Jammu/Srinagar, the required information from all notaries, as per earlier circular instructions dated January 02, 2026, is still awaited. The department has now sought immediate compliance to ensure timely operationalization of the portal.

The communication further states that inspection teams will be constituted for the physical verification of notaries across the Union Territory. All notaries appointed by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir have been asked to extend full cooperation and provide necessary assistance to the teams constituted by the Directorate of Litigations.

The matter has been marked as “Most Urgent,” and authorities have made it clear that no claim for registration shall be entertained after the launch of the Online Notary Portal.

The In-charge website of the Department has also been directed to upload the communication for wider dissemination.
