As per the four seasons of the Kashmir Valley, winter starts with the arrival of a forty-day harsh period commonly known as “Chillai Kallaan.” Chillai Kallaan, a forty-day harsh period, starts from the 21st of December every year and lasts till the end of January.
The 21st of December is the day when day and night are of equal length. After the 21st of December, the length of the day increases by one to two minutes until the 21st of June.
The 21st of June is considered the longest day in terms of daylight. All this is a phenomenon of nature, and no one can control it. Just enjoy every moment of it and keep yourself healthy and happy.
Blessings of the Almighty
Nature has bestowed upon us unlimited blessings, and we should always be thankful for them. We are surrounded by blessings like water, air, forests, food items such as fresh vegetables, fruits, cereals, sweets, and everything we consume.
How to Be Thankful
Being thankful for every blessing is a good quality. We should also be thankful to each other for the help we receive in our day-to-day tasks.
We should be thankful for every food item we eat, like fruits and vegetables.

Every season in the Kashmir Valley is full of joy, and people with healthy hearts enjoy the pleasant moments of each season.
Autumn Season
Autumn season lasts from 21st September to 21st December.
Winter Season
Winter season lasts from 22nd December to 21st March.
Spring Season
Spring season lasts from 22nd March to
21st June.
Summer Season
Summer season lasts from 22nd June to 21st September.
How Days and Nights Are Caused
Day and night occur due to the rotation of the Earth. Earth completes one rotation in 24 hours, and our day starts from 12:00 midnight. After 12 noon, the next hour is 1 pm.
How Seasons Are Caused
Seasons are caused due to the revolution of the Earth, as Earth completes one revolution around the Sun in 365 days and 6 hours.
Leap Year
After every four years, we have a leap year. The extra 6 hours from each year add up to 24 hours, which becomes one full day.

Almighty has bestowed us with the potential to grow in any circumstance, even during harsh seasonal changes. Our body gradually adapts to changes and becomes normal.
During winter, our body needs a healthy diet and plenty of liquids so we do not feel dehydrated.
In winter, we do less physical exercise due to the chilling cold, and we avoid going outdoors. We prefer to stay indoors and eat warm and healthy foods like red meat, cereals, and homemade recipes.

We should not be adamant; we must follow healthy instructions like exercise, a balanced diet, and wearing suitable clothes.

Today, after every half kilometre, we have gym centres and trained trainers. I suggest you always exercise under a trained guide so that no untoward incident like injury happens in the future.
