20 injured in Uri accident

Srinagar: In a tragic turn of events, an independent candidate’s roadshow in Jabla Uri took a devastating turn today when a mishap left several people injured. The roadshow, organized by Independent candidate Taj Mahi-ud-Din, was meant to galvanize support in the region. However, chaos ensued when an accident occurred midway through the event, causing panic and sending shockwaves across the political landscape.
Eyewitnesses reported that the incident took place as the crowd surged during the procession, with some vehicles involved in the rally reportedly losing control. The injured were rushed to the nearby Sub-District Hospital (SDH) in Uri, where they received medical treatment. However, the aftermath of the accident has stirred controversy and criticism from various corners.
In a swift response to the tragedy, members of the National Conference’s youth wing visited the hospital to check on the well-being of the injured. The youth wing expressed solidarity with the victims, offering both moral and logistical support.
Speaking to reporters, one member of the National Conference youth wing said, “We came here as soon as we heard about the accident. It’s crucial that those who were injured during a political event are not forgotten. They deserve care and attention, no matter the party affiliation.”
However, in a twist that has sparked anger and disappointment, those affected by the accident revealed that no representatives from Taj Mohi-ud-Din’s campaign had visited the hospital to offer their support or even inquire about their well-being. The injured expressed their dismay over the apparent neglect.
“I was expecting at least a word of concern from someone in the rally,” said a local resident who was injured during the event. “But no one from the candidate’s team showed up here to check on us. It feels like we’ve been abandoned after the accident.”
Another victim added, “It was their event, and we got hurt while supporting them. They should have at least come to see how we’re doing. But instead, we’re left here, relying on others for help.”
