Srinagar, Feb 26: Police reported on Monday that they have initiated legal action against a fraudster for extorting money from people by impersonating ADGP Jammu, Anand Jain, on social media platforms.
According to the Zonal Police Media Centre Jammu (ZPMCJ), in a post on X, “A fraudster has managed to impersonate ADGP Jammu zone, Shri Anand Jain, IPS on various social media platforms using his image and other credentials to extort money from people.”
Police stated that the perpetrator created profiles of the ADGP Jammu with malicious intent, and legal action has been taken accordingly.
“It is advised that individuals refrain from responding to these profiles. Any financial loss or other issues should be reported to the nearest police station/ Cyber Cell in the respective districts,” added ZPMCJ in another post on X.
