Srinagar, Feb 04: A team of Food Safety led by Assistant Commissioner Srinagar, Yameen-ul-Nabi, carried out an intensive market check of ready-to-eat food outlets in the Hazratbal area.
The Food Safety team conducted inspections of food business operators involved in selling ready-to-eat foods such as bakery shops, cafeterias, and restaurants.
The inspecting team examined the food items in a mobile food testing van to assess the quality parameters.
On the occasion, six compounding challans were issued against the violators. Approximately 10 kilograms of chicken, emitting a bad smell, were also destroyed on the spot.
The Food Safety team declared that market checks of this nature will continue in Srinagar city in the future.
Simultaneously, the team urged consumers to report any food items they suspect are of poor quality or do not meet standard guidelines. They can lodge their complaints on the toll-free number 104.
