Special DGP Crime Branch chairs UT level coordination committee meet

Jammu: The second meeting of the Sub- Committee of Union Territory Level Coordination Committee was held at PHQ in Jammu regarding Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC) cases.

The meeting as per a statement issued here was presided over by Arun Kumar Chowdhary, IPS Special Director General Of Police Crime Branch J&K.

The  meeting was attended by  Javid Iqbal Matoo, IPS DIG Crime Branch J&K, Laeeq Ahmad  Joint Director Prosecution Crime branch J&K, Villy Koul, Special Secretary to Govt Law Deptt, Imtiyaz Hussain Mir, SSP CID Hqrs. (TMG) J&K, Rakesh Kumar,  Addl Secretary, Finance Deptt. and Maheer Thakur, Information Officer.

Besides, the Regulator(s) from Reserve Bank of India, Registrar Companies & SEBI that include Haamid Bukhari-ICLS, ROC J&K, Amit Manai, Asstt GM SEBI Delhi,  Sudesh Kumari, Manager RBI, Shail Bhardwaj Asst. Manager RBI, and  Varun Gupta Asstt. Manager RBI also participated in the said meeting.

During the meeting, the NBFC cases on the basis of Marketing Intelligence, were discussed & in addition the directions passed on 10th of March, 2023 in 33rd UTLCC meeting were also deliberated upon in the meeting.

All the stake holders were advised to lay emphasis upon the general awareness among the public about the unregulated NBFC & NIDHI companies in the market & to involve other institutions like Panchayat(s) & Educational institutions in this mass awareness campaign. Documentaries & short clips about awareness shall be circulated on social platform & others mediums and modes of publicity & publication.

The regulators were advised to further activate market intelligence & to take necessary action of any such case of unregulated NBFCs is noticed & refer complaints/ inputs to Investigating Agency for cognizance.
