2 drug peddlers arrested in Pulwama: Police

Srinagar: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, police on Sunday said to have arrested two drug peddlers in Pulwama and recovered contraband substance from their possession.

Police received a specific information through reliable sources regarding the presence of contraband substances in the house of Asadullah Mochi son of Gh Ahmad Mochi resident of Sheikh Mohalla Bellow. Acting swiftly, a police party led by SHO Police Station Rajpora raided the specific spot. During search, officers were able to recover 2.5 Kgs and 5.6 Kgs of charas powder concealed in 02 nylon bags from the said residential house. The accused was arrested on the spot and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.

Moreover, a police party of Police Station Pulwama arrested a drug peddler namely Mudasir Khursheed, resident of Zadoora. During search, a significant quantity of Charas powder was recovered from his possession. He has been shifted to police station where he remains in custody.

Accordingly, police said that cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations and investigation has been initiated.
