Srinagar: Government of India, Ministry of Labour & Employment, Dattopant Thengadi National Board for Workers Education and Development, Regional Directorate, Jammu has successfully organized its 36th Regional Advisory Committee meeting at Press Club, Jammu, on Thursday.
The meeting was presided over by Chanan Singh Toor, Chairman, RAC, DTNBWED, Jammu & General Secretary, Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh, UT of J&K.
In his address he said that Board was renamed in 2016 to honour Late Dattopant Thengadiji, who was an eminent Trade Union leader of India & a great visionary from whom Board takes inspiration & accordingly works for the welfare & development of workers across the country.
He also informed the gathering that Board has trained millions of workers since its inception on 16th September, 1958 & it will continue to play an important role by making workers aware about their rights under different labours laws and welfare schemes from Central & State Governments agencies in all the districts of UT States of Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh.
Prior to the above a healthy discussion was also held among all the RAC Members about better implementation of GoI’s Workers Education Scheme in UT of Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh.
Earlier on the day, Dr.Pankaj Kr. Rastogi, Member Secretary & Regional Director I/c, DTNBWED, Jammu has welcomed the Chairman & all the Members of Regional Advisory Committee & then he also presented a brief PPT presentation about the activities of DTNBWED, Jammu & seeking suggestion & help from all RAC members for better implementation of Workers Education Scheme in the UT States of Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh.
Thereafter the Chairman& all the members of RAC have assured of provide their full cooperation to DTNBWED, Jammu.
The programme ended with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr.Pankaj Kr. Rastogi, Regional Director I/c, DTNBWED, Jammu in which he thanked all the dignitaries, senior officials from Central &State Government Institutions, Central organization of Employers & Central Trade Unions and Media Representative of Jammu for making this event a grand success. The programme was followed by the lunch.
