Huge quantity of illicit timber seized, accused held in Budgam: Police

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Police in Budgam claimed to have seized huge quantity of illicit timber and arrested an accused person involved in the commission of crime.

A police spokesman said Police Station Khag received an information that one person Abdul Hamid Shera son of Mohammad Hussain Shera resident of Gujarpathri Drang has kept huge quantity of illicit timber in an orchard on Drung Gujarpathri road.

Accordingly, a police party of Police Station Khag raided the specific spot and seized huge quantity of illicit timber and arrested the accused person involved in the commission of crime.

Accordingly, a case under FIR number 50/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Khag and investigation has been initiated. More arrests and recoveries are expected.

“Our consistent actions against anti social elements should reassure the community members that we are making every effort to keep our society free of crime. Police has resolved to act as per law against those who indulge in criminal activities,” the statement said.
