Srinagar: National Conference has suspended senior leader and party vice president Syed Muhammad Akhoon from basic membership for a period of 6 years.
The party accused him of indulging in ‘anti-party’ activities.
The decision was taken by the party president Dr Farooq Abdullah.
NC Provincial President, Advocate Showkat Ahmad Mir in this regard issued a letter to Syed Muhammad Akhoon.
The letter reads that on the directions of Dr Farooq Abdullah President, JKNC “you are suspended from the basic membership of JKNC for a period of six years for your anti-party activities.”
Akhoon was denied party ticket from the Hazaratbal Assembly Segment, though the seat was yet won by the NC candidate Salman Ali Sagar by a margin of 10,295 votes. He had defeated his nearest rival candidate from PDP AsieaNaqash who managed to secure 8595 votes.
