Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Police in Sopore on Monday said to have arrested a notorious bootlegger and recovered illicit liquor from his possession.
A police party of Police Station Sopore headed by SHO PS Sopore under the supervision of ASP Sopore, at a checkpoint established at Degree College Crossing, intercepted a Tata Sumo bearing registration number JK04B-9591 driven by Farooq Ahmad Ganie @Farooq Jandgur son of Ghulam Nabi Ganie resident of Sangrampora Sopore A/P Bunpora Langate Handwara. During search, 32 bottles of illicit liquor were recovered from his possession, a police spokesman said in a statement.
Accordingly, police said that a case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Sopore & investigation has been initiated.
