Second-in-Command Parag Chaturvedi delivers lecture on “Say ‘NO’ to Drugs”

Udhampur: A lecture on topic “Say ‘NO’ to Drugs” was delivered by Second-in-Command Parag Chaturvedi, 31 Bn, Adhoc Commandant, SSB at Govt Degree College, Udhampur in the presence of Prof (Dr) Romesh Kumar Gupta, Principal; Dr Pankaj Sharma, ASI/GD Desh Raj Singh, Constable Naresh etc. and 71 students of college. They were also shown 2 short documentaries.

It was appealed to the youth in audience that they ought to work keeping in view of their respective career goals and interests of family, society & nation. “They must keep themselves away from natural, semi-synthetic & synthetic drugs because once a youth becomes its addict, he/she proves to be a burden not only on family, society & country and such drug abuser consequently die at an early age in utmost pain.”

“They were apprised that getting out of the vicious cycle of drug addiction is quite difficult, hence, almost impossible for those who come from lower and medium class families. They were administered the oath of Saying ‘No’ to Drugs. Keep your aim at your career target & act as per aspirations of Marhoom Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, a visionary par excellence.”

“They were motivated to join Indian Army, Indian Air Force, Indian Navy, Indian Coast Guard, BSF, SSB, CRPF, CISF, ITBP, Assam Rifles, State Police, etc. as charm & glamour of uniform never fade away.”

“They were shown Hell March of Indian Armed Forces.”

In the last, a special session was kept reserved exclusively for girl students to make them aware of some other untouched aspects of narcotic drugs & a motivational movie was shown to girls. The programme was concluded with National Anthem.
