Srinagar: A team from Fire and Emergency Services Sub Command City Jammu under the supervision of Divisional Fire Officer organised a training cum demo at Sub District Hospital Jagtti.
The team imparted the training and conducted demo was headed by Kiran Raina Sub Officer I/c F&ES City.
He along with associates delivered a lecture and comprehensive presentation about the fire safety measures to be adopted in hospitals in case any unfortunate event of a fire incident takes place within the hospital premises.
A live demonstration of proper usage of fire extinguishers in case of fire emergency was meticulously displayed All the staff members and general public participated in the drill with great care and interest and learned the proper usage of Fire Extinguishers.
All the staff members appreciated the efforts of the Fire Services Department headed by Alok Kumar ADGP Director Fire and Emergency Services J&K who took keen interest in making awareness campaign regarding fire safety a regular exercise and this way the hospital staff and other establishments in UT have become aware about safe evacuation and preventive measures in case of any fire emergency.
Demo was organised by Medical Superintendent Dr Sanjay Raina SDH Jagti in collaboration with Deputy Director F&ES Command Jammu and Dr Raina in the end presented a special vote of thanks to the team of Fire Services Department for organising this drill at hospital.
Another awareness program was held at Hee Maa Public school Dhammi Jagtti Nagrota wherein nearly 400 students participated in the fire safety awareness program.
Roshan Lal Principal of the school thanked Fire and Emergency Services Department for taking this initiative. He also thanked the team for conducting this awareness program to educate children about Fire safety.
Meanwhile, demonstration cum lecture was conducted at V S K Higher Secondary School Mishriwala Jammu by Ram Rattan I/c FES Canal.
The students and management appreciated the role of Firefighters and thanked Fire and Emergency Services department for taking this awareness campaign to such heights
Pertinently, Director Fire and Emergency Services J&K Alok Kumar has initiated an awareness campaign regarding fire safety and Wednesday has been dedicated to organize awareness programmes in schools.
Till date, nearly 1.35 lac students excluding teaching staff have witnessed these fire safety awareness programmes.
