After volunteer retirement, prominent doctor from Kupwara joins Apni Party

Srinagar: After voluntary retirement to serve people as politician, a renowned medico from north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, Dr Noorudin Ahmad Shah Friday joined Apni Party (AP) led by former minister Syed Altaf Bukhari here.

The prominent doctor joined AP officially today along with hundreds of his workers at the Party Office in Srinagar.

Dr Noorudin Ahmad Shah joined the party in presence of Syed Altaf Bukhari, who welcomed him along with his workers with warm reception.

Pertinently, Dr Noorudin Ahmad Shah after serving people for over three decades as a doctor in both rural and urban areas of Kashmir, took a voluntary retirement with an aim to live upto the extended expectations of people at his native area.

Dr Shah served as a surgeon in Kashmir’s premier SKIMS Soura and later rendered his services in other peripheral districts like Kupwara, Budgam and in the summer capital Srinagar too.

He has seen the Valley’s health structure evolving. “I opted voluntary retirement a year before my superannuation only to prepare myself to serve my people in my native area. I belong to Trehgam Kupwara,” he had told Precious Kashmir.

In his medico services, Dr Shah claims to have worked with utmost sincerity. “I used to do free private practice. I am sure if people will not talk good about me but they will also not talk bad about me. That is something I am sure about. I always adopted a people oriented and pro-people approach. I have earned a lot of respect among people,” Dr Shah said.
