Srinagar: In view of the enormous response to Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan starrer ‘Jawan movie’, Inox theatre in Srinagar has added to the number of daily shows of the film.
Directed by Atlee, Sharukh Khan and Nayanthara starer Jawan was released on Thursday across India. The movie which also features south superstar Vijay Sethupathi and Deepika Padukone in cameo witnessed an enormous response at Inox Srinagar, where the halls were jam packed with SRK fans.
On Thursday, the theatre owner ran eight shows of the film to cater to the rush of the audiences, who had booked tickets in advance for the movie.
All the shows today ran houseful with audiences including students, professionals and elderly. As the film started, SRK fans whopped and grooved over the songs of the film.
For Friday, the Inox multiplex owner has kept five shows while eight shows have been kept for weekend- Saturday and Sunday each.
The Inox owner has expected the movie to run houseful this weekend given the enormous requests for booking of tickets.
“‘Jawan’ is witnessing a ‘good’ response in Srinagar as advance bookings are coming in huge numbers. This is the first time since the launch of the multiplex that we had to run eight shows a day.We are expecting the movie to run houseful for few more days,” said Vijay Dhar, owner of the INOX Cinema theatre.
On Thursday, movie enthusiasts from across the valley filled the seats, and the theatre proudly displayed the “Houseful” sign.
“I came from Baramulla to watch ‘Jawan’. I am a SRK fan and was eagerly waiting for the release of the movie. The moviemakers had already raised our curiosity especially after the movie trailer was released last week,” said Mubashir Ahmad Khan, a college student.
Many fans said they will re-watch the film with their families next week. “This film is captivating with a good storyline. The cast as well as the songs are powerful. We are planning to watch this movie with our families,” said Ayaan Ahmad Rather, a baker from Pampore.
Jawan already shook up the traditional cinematic timetable in India. For the first time in Bollywood history, shows will commence as early as 5 AM on the film’s opening day in many cities across the country. (KNO)
