Dir F&ES approves 351 cases of welfare relief, others

Srinagar: Director Fire & Emergency Service, J&K, Alok Kumar (ADGP) chaired a meeting of Central Welfare Committee of Fire & Emergency Services in his office chambers at Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.

During the meeting, 359 welfare cases of Fire Services personnel for grant of welfare relief, loan cases were placed before the Committee.

The committee after threadbare deliberations and scrutiny of these cases approved 351 cases and rejected eight cases in view of incomplete supporting documents.  351 cases approved by the Committee include welfare relief, loan medical treatment, marriage of wards and siblings, wards pursuing professional courses in and outside the UT, scholarship of meritorious wards, construction, repairs of houses, relief in favour of injured personnel during firefighting.

An amount of Rs 83.00 lacs was sanctioned against these cases as welfare loan, relief.

The Central Welfare Committee was held after a gap of three years. Besides, grant of relief, welfare loan, a number of decisions with regard Welfare of Jawans were also taken in the meeting.
