Srinagar: Municipal Committee Kulgam on Sunday rejected the reports about lack of facilities at newly established Chawalgam bus stand.
A statement issued here said that the newly established Chawalgam bus stand has a well ventilated six seated lavoratory Block constructed on modern lines with separate facility for both male & females & is fully functional.
“At Laroo bus stand there is a washroom facility for drivers within a terminal building and other within the vicinity for general public Further one Mobile toilet is operational at Ghanta ghar and other is utilized on rotational basis at different places depending upon the need.”
Regarding the passenger sheds, two passenger sheds already exists at Laroo bus stand & estimates for other passenger sheds for newly established chawalgam stand have been completed which will be put to tenders in the coming days as well, the statement said.
The work on the installation of street lights at Laroo bus stand have been completed, and will be made functional in coming days. Further installation of street lights at Chawalgam bus stand is under process.
Meanwhile, MC Kulgam urged people to co-operate with the committee for better facilities.
