Outsourcing identified assets of Tourism deptt: Govt modifies previous order

Appoints two more members, excludes Secretary to Government, H&ME deptt

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir government on Wednesday modified the previous order related to the constitution of a committee for deciding the mechanism of outsourcing of the identified assets of the Tourism Department.

Two more members have been included in the committee while the Secretary to the Government, Health & Medical Education Department has been excluded as the member of the panel.

As per the order, Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, Forest, Environment & Ecology Department and Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, Revenue Department shall be co-opted member(s) of the Committee.

Earlier, the government in December last year constituted a committee headed by Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary) Finance Department, to select the properties from the identified list to be outsourced besides identifying the model for each property or group of assets for outsourcing.

In the fresh order, under number 36-JK(GAD) of 2023, dated 11-01-2023, the government said that in partial modification of Government Order No. 1297- JK(GAD) of 2021 dated 09-12-2021 read with Government Order No. 327-JK(GAD) of 2022 dated 07-11-2022, it is hereby ordered that Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, Forest, Environment & Ecology Department and Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, Revenue Department shall be co-opted member(s) of the aforesaid Committee.

“Concerned Deputy Commissioner(s) & Vice Chairman(s)/Chief Executive Officer(s) of the Development Authorities (if any) shall be special invitees to the Committee,” the order reads.

It further added that Secretary to the Government, Health & Medical Education Department shall not be a member of the Committee.
