Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Police and Army in a joint operation recovered a cache of ammunition at Churanda area of Uri sector on Tuesday.
As per a statement, acting upon an input regarding presence of ammunition in village Churanda area of Uri sector, the parties of Army 16 SIKHLI and J&K Police today launched a CASO around the village.
Furthermore, the search operation led to the recovery of ammunition including 200 rounds of AK ammunition, eight Chinese grenades and IED material.
The statement said that a case under relevant sections has been registered in Police Station Uri and investigation set in motion.
