PMFME: 3-day training prog concludes at KVK Samba

Samba: A three-day training programme on “on credit Linked Subsidy beneficiaries under PM Formulization of Micro Food Processing Enterprise Scheme concluded at KVK Samba.

This programme was conceived keeping in mind the policy of the GOI to create job givers and not job seekers in this era of Startups, a statement issued here said.

The programme was conducted as per instructions of Vice-Chancellor SKUAST-Jammu Prof. J.P. Sharma and under the guidance of Professor S.K. Gupta, Director Extension.

More than 27 participants along with DPRs from district Samba, Kathua and Jammu have actively participated in this programme.

The programme was inaugurated by Chief Scientist & Head KVK Samba. At the onset Prof. Sanjay Khajuria, welcomed all the resource persons and the participants, In the presence of august hall, he briefed about the learning outcome of the programme like introduction to Indian Food Industry, Status, market size; understanding supply chain in food processing industries; opportunities in food processing sector; PMFME overview and other government of India schemes supporting food processing enterprises.

S.R. Sangra AGMO Kathua gave lecture on different schemes on food processing enterprise and its detailed modalities and other aspects to the participants. Vishal Ray, Faculty JKEDI has given lecture on objective of EDP, basic characteristics of entrepreneur: Entrepreneurial mind, developing self-confidence attitude, building, goal setting and risk taking, managerial skill sets and detailed discussion about business related management system.

During the programme, AGMO Samba emphasized on adoption of newly marketing techniques and digital marketing, distribution channel, export opportunities, effective and long term customer relationship, branding of products and their registration process.

Ashwani Kumar, OSD to Director Horticulture Jammu in his address to the participant has discussed range of technology solutions relevant to product; showcase of existing training material special to processing and packaging aspects as per the interest of the micro entrepreneurs available on PMFME Portals.

Shreshtha Gaur, FSSAI, Reasi has given detailed lecture on Food Regulatory Compliances; Important provisions, duties and obligations of food business operators and other key points, FSSAI License/registration and renewal. She further elaborated to the august gathering about FSSAI initiatives for promoting safe and whole some food and Food quality testing for healthy society.

Dr. Neerja Sharma, Senior Scientist (Horticulture), Dr. Abhay Kumar Sinha, Senior Scientist (Agri. Engg.). Dr Saurav Gupta Scientist Entomology and Dr. Vijay Kumar Sharma, Scientist (Animal Sciences) gave a lecture on different initiatives in the field of agriculture and animal husbandry sector. The programme was assisted by Dr. Shalini Khajuria, Bharat Bhushan, Tajinder Singh and Pawandeep Singh of KVK Samba.
