Today the challenge to human life is use and misuse of Antibiotics, it is very difficult to educate the clinicians and stop selling the antibiotics at the counter and there are few dedicated Microbiology laboratories to forecast the matters on drug resistance I wonder is it possible to implement the Antibiotic policy in our country? where many doctors and pharmaceutical companies thrive on conflict of interest and ignorance . I find when reporting in the laboratory many patients after 60 years of age is at greater rusk of attaining the MDR strains may be in the hospital If we get admitted in the hospital our lives will be hunted by Drug resistance bacteria unless effective infection controls measures and Antibiotic policy is implemented, we all at risk However the Hospitals are not becoming safe places to live in future,,Antibiotic overuse and inappropriate use also bears a heavy responsibility for creating this crisis. While antibiotics are certainly over prescribed in medicine, the largest source of antibiotic exposure is actually via your food. How we perceive the matter makes the difference. Hospital-Acquired Infections on the Rise
Hospitals have become particularly notorious for spreading lethal infections. In the United States, more than two million people are affected by hospital-acquired infections each year, and anywhere from 75,000 to 100,000 people die as a result. The most common hospital-acquired infections include:
Central line-associated bloodstream infections
Catheter-associated urinary tract infections
Surgical site infections after surgery
Clostridium difficile infections
Most of these cases could likely have been easily prevented with better infection control in hospitals—simple things such as doctors and nurses washing their hands between each patient, .NEVER FORGET EVEN A SIMPLE HAND WASHING IN THE HEALTH CARE ENVIRONMENT CAN REDUCE MUCH ANTICIPATED MORBIDITY AND MORTALITY.
