ANTF arrests 2 drug dealers with heroin worth lakhs

Jammu: The team of Anti Narcotic Task Force, Jammu on Friday arrested two drug dealers with contraband of heroin in Belicharana area here in the city outskirts.

SSP J&K ANTF, Vinay Kumar said that on specific information, one car driven by Laikat Ali of Rangpur Sadhray, R S Pura, at present staying at Nikki Tawi, Belicharana, Jammu is selling Heroin among the youth in Belicharana area and had concealed a large quantity of contraband in the vehicle.

On this information, he said that a case was registered and ANTF team immediately swung into action and laid Naka at near Fourth Tawi Bridge at Belicharana, Jammu.

The car was stopped and during the search, 282.20 grams of heroin was recovered from the car by the ANTF team and the accused person was arrested in the instant case.

In addition to this, the ANTF Team headed by Inspector Parvez Sajjad and Inspector Varuneshwar Singh arrested another drug supplier from Kashmir who has been identified as Noor Mohd. Bhat of Naipora Bungam, Mir Bazar, Anantnag, Kashmir wanted in NDPS case.

He is the main supplier of the Narcotic Drugs from Kashmir valley and had formed a notorious gang in connivance with other accused persons, involved in supply and transport of Narcotics Substances from Kashmir to Jammu region for making easy money and has spoiled the lives of many youth, he said.

The SSP said that more arrests are expected.

Moreover, one notorious narco-dealer named Vishal Sharma of Rajpura, Shakti Nagar Jammu was detained under PIT NDPS Act and lodged in Central Jail Kot Bhalwal Jammu.

A dossier was submitted by PS ANTF Jammu before the Divisional Commissioner Jammu who issued Detention Orders of this hard-core criminal under PITNDPS.

The Anti-Narcotic Task Force has appealed to the general public to share information regarding such drug dealers so that appropriate legal actions are taken against them and this menace is uprooted from our society, he said. (UNI)
