Infiltration bid foiled, 2 killed in Nowshehra sector

Rajouri: Army on Tuesday foiled a major infiltration bid along the Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri’s Lam area by killing two infiltrators, officials said.

Officials told a local news gathering agency that in the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday, a group of militants attempted to infiltrate from the Line of Control Pukharni area of Lam Battalion in Nowshera sector.

“Indian Army successfully foiled this infiltration and two of the infiltrators got killed in an explosion,” the officials said.

They said that bodies of both infiltrators have been spotted through manual and technical surveillance and they are lying ahead of forward posts on Line of Control.

“Both the bodies are yet to be retrieved as these are lying in mine field,” Officials said. They said that entire area on LoC and behind is under tight cordon with intense searches going on.

“This infiltration attempt has taken place just two days after an attempt in which movement of one of the infiltrator was detected by troops who was fired upon and later detained in injured condition,” the officials said, adding that the infiltrator was later identified as Tabarak Hussain son of Mistri Malik resident of Sabzakote Pakistan administered Kashmir (PaK).
