Replacement for old motors at Zoohama filtration plant included in JJM prog: JSD

Srinagar: Public Health Engineering (PHE) authorities of central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Thursday said that the motors at Zoohama filtration plant have given their services and that its replacement has been included in Jal Jeewan Mission programme.

Pertinently, a section of print media had reported that the filtration plant being defunct is forcing the people to drink contaminated water. Authorities, following the report, had sought report from concerned authorities.

Executive Engineer, Jal Shakti department, Chadoora in a report to the government said that the decades old motors installed at the plant are out of order despite repeated repairs.

“The motors have actually given their services,” the officer said.

He said that the replacement of the defunct motors has been included in Jal Jeewan Mission Program.

“Once the allotments are issued the work shall be taken up on war footing basis in order to redress the grievance of the general public,” the Exen said.
