Covid-19 cases spike as 333 test positive in J&K

One dies, Sgr reports highest 95 infections

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Tuesday reported 333 fresh cases of Covid-19, pushing the number of active cases to 1402 besides that one death was reported in the last 24 hours taking the death toll to 4760.

An official said that among 333 new cases, 146 belong to Kashmir division while as 187 to Jammu division. He said that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir have reached to 289,044 including 286,018 recoveries and 2,425 deaths, while total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 168,473 including 165,337 recoveries and 2,335 deaths.

He further said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 1402 including 601 from Kashmir division and 801 from Jammu division.

With 70 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in J&K has reached to 451,355 which is 98.67 percent of the total cases.

“Among the fresh 333 cases today, 95 are from Srinagar, 12 from Baramulla, 11 from Budgam, 12 from Ganderbal, 09 from Kupwara, 05 from Anantnag and one each from Pulwama and Kulgam in Kashmir division while 187 are from Jammu division that include 137 from Jammu district, 20 from Udhampur, 14 from Samba, 09 from Kathua, three from Rajouri, two each from Doda and Kishtwar,” said the official.

As per the daily information bulletin 6,597,703 persons in J&K are under observation while 316 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides 1402 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 6,590,806 persons have completed the surveillance period and 419 persons are under home surveillance besides so far results of 25,960,575 samples are available.

“Out of 25,960,575 the number of samples tested negative stands at 25,503,058 while 457,517 have tested positive, among them 1402 cases are active, 451,355 have recovered and 4,760 persons have died,” it added. (KNO)
