My life is like an open book: Murmu

Bhopal: The NDA’s presidential candidate Droupadi Murmu on Friday expressed her commitment towards serving the country while respecting the Constitution and said that her life is akin to an open book that focuses only on the nation and the Almighty.

During a sojourn to the Madhya Pradesh capital in the run-up to the election to India’s highest constitutional office, Jharkhand’s erstwhile governor graced a function in her honour at Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s residence.

Speaking on the occasion, Murmu – who has a tribal background – said, “Numerous people did not even know me. Therefore I decided to undertake visits. Women folk have tremendous expectations of me. I was surprised when Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that I am to occupy the top post. Mr Modi has drafted a 25-year roadmap for the country.” (UNI)
