Parts of Kashmir receive rains

Srinagar: Parts of the Kashmir Valley experienced rainfall on Tuesday, resulting in a slight drop in temperature and disrupting normal life.

The Meteorological Department forecast rain and thundershowers at many places in Kashmir region especially in parts of north and south Kashmir.

It said that rain and thundershowers were expected at most places in the Kashmir region and many places in Jammu region during the next five days. There are higher chances of hailstorm and gusty winds at some places.

The day temperatures will drop by 2-14 degrees Celsius in the coming days, the MeT office said.

Srinagar and its adjoining areas lashed by rains on Tuesday afternoon.

The maximum temperature in Srinagar was recorded at 28.1 degrees Celsius, which was 7 degrees Celsius above normal.

Pahalgam had a maximum of 24.6 degrees Celsius while Gulmarg saw 18.4 degreed Celsius on Tuesday.
