CRPF personnel killed, 12 injured in Hyderpora  accident

Srinagar: A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) trooper was killed and a dozen others were injured when a civilian truck hit their vehicles at the Hyderpora bypass here, police said on Tuesday.

The accident occurred during Monday night. The injured included a man in the civilian truck.

All the injured CRPF personnel were shifted to a hospital where Constable M N Mani succumbed to his injuries, informed sources said.

The injured conductor, Tanveer Hussain, was shifted to Shri Maharaja Hari Singh (SMHS) Hospital in Srinagar.

The injured CRPF persons were identified as Manjesh Kumar, Driver Hemraj Saini, Sushant Biswas, Ganaga Ram, Inspector Ashish Mishra, Jasraj Batti, Sushant Kumar Swain, Dilip Kumar, Shiv Kumar, Pramod Kiro and Gyan Prakash. The driver of the civilian truck, Irshad Hussain, has been arrested.
