Upgradation of Ompora transformer incorporated in current yrs IT Capex : PDD

Srinagar: Power Development Department (PDD) authorities Budgam have described the reports that officials are demanding money from the villagers of Usmanabad Ompora as baseless and asked the villagers to come with proof if any of the officials have taken money.

The statement issued by the Executive Engineer, PDD Budgam, said that that 100 KV transformer of Usmanabad Ompora gets repeatedly damaged due to overload.

“The existing agreements load on the sub-station is only 67 KV and the  inhabitants are demanding installation of 250 KV transformer. Due to the non-availability of funds the augmentation is not possible despite the work stands incorporated in this year’s UT Capex,” the statement said.

Statement further said that since the transformer could not be upgraded to higher capacity immediately , the residents are leveling false allegations against the department.

The statement , however , said that the residents should come with evidence if any official has demanded or taken money.

The issue of the power woes of the Usmanabad was highlighted not only on social media but also by a section of print media a couple of days ago.
