Jalandhar: Border security Force on Monday seized five packets of contraband suspected to be heroin from Amritsar sector.
A spokesperson of the Punjab Frontier Headquarter of the BSF here said that the BSF troops during domination patrol seized five packets of the contraband suspected to be heroin concealed in a polythene bag which was found lying ahead of the Border security Fence.
He said that a thorough search on both sides of the border security fence led to the recovery of the contraband. He said that considering the circumstances, the possibility of dropping drugs by a drone from the Pakistan side could not be ruled out.
Value of the heroin seized is said to be about Rs. 19 crore in the international market.
