2 non-locals, KP shot at, injured in Pulwama, Shopian

Srinagar: Two more non locals were shot at and injured by militants, in Lajurah village of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Monday. Also a Kashmiri Pandit was shot and injured in adjacent Shopian district.

Official sources said that the gunmen fired upon Patleshwar Kumar Jakku Chaudhary, from Bihar, leaving them injured.

They said Patleshwar Kumar has injury in right arm and Jakku Chaudhary injury in right arm and leg.

Medical Superintendent DH Pulwama said that two non-locals with firearm injuries were received and are present under treatment.

A police spokesperson said that at 1400 hours, militants fired upon two labourers identified as Patleshwar Kumar and Jakku Chaudhary residents of Bihar at Lajoora area of Pulwama. “Both the labourers received gunshot injuries and were immediately shifted to hospital for treatment where their condition is stated to be stable. Police have registered a case under relevant sections of law and initiated investigation into the matter.”

Pertinently two non locals, Surinder and Dheraj Dut, were shot at and injured in litter area of Pulwama on Sunday evening.

Meanwhile, militants fired upon a man in Chotagam Harmain in Shopian district this evening.

A top police officer told GNS that militants fired upon a Kashmir Pandith identified as Sonu Kumar Balaji of Chotagam. He has been shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment and is said to be stable.

Meanwhile whole area has been cordoned off to nab the attackers, he added.
