Reviews security scenario in Ganderbal
Srinagar: Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, Central Kashmir Range (CKR), Sujit Kumar on Thursday reviewed the security scenario in Ganderbal, police said.
The meeting was held to take stock of law and order, Amarnath Yatra preparedness, anti-militancy operations, anti-drug drive, and other issues related to day-to-day policing, according to a police statement.
“During his visit, DIG took stock of anti-militancy operational duties. Apart from review of security scenario, he also took stock of Amarnath Yatra preparations which is likely to commence on June 30, 2022,” it said.
The DIG gave certain directions to district police officers to conduct a safe and secured Amarnath ji Yatra.
He also chaired a meeting at Ganderbal which was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police Ganderbal Nikhil Borkar, Additional SP Ganderbal Feroz Yehya and senior officers of the District.
“During the meeting, the DIG CKR stressed upon the officers that anti-national elements need to be taken to task so that militant activities are curbed to the fullest,” the statement added.
The DIG also directed the officers to focus on modern policing techniques in investigation and particularly dealing with militancy.
He also laid emphasis on strengthening the police-public relations, service-oriented policing and to gain the confidence and trust of the people to maintain peace and tranquility in the district. (UNI)
