‘All info uploaded on forest depts official website’
Srinagar: Authorities on Tuesday asked the RTI activist , Dr Raja Muzaffar Bhat to approach the appellate authority under RTI act 2005 to get the information regarding forest rights act under rules.
Activist in a tweet had criticised the authorities for not uploading the list of beneficiaries of FRA.
“If every file has been digitised in civil secretariate why is not FRA beneficiaries list not uploaded on forest department website. Why are people made to suffer and not provided information under RTI,” ?
Authorities in reply to his tweet and write up in a local daily further said that forest department (territorial) has a webpage on forest rights act on its official website www.jkorest.gov.in and , as per provisions of section 4 of RTI act 2005 , specific information on FRA implementation will be uploaded as the claims are settled under rules and entered in the record of rights by the concerned authority as provided in FRA , 2006.
