‘Work on school building will start after land identification’
Srinagar: Authorities on Friday discredited the social media reports about a government school in Gurez saying the school is functioning from a rented building not cowshed.
National conference leader , Sarah Hayat Shah had tweeted a video with a caption ‘Plz take a look at Naya Kashmir’. Cowshed turned into middle school in Tulail, Gurez. International Infrastructure.
In a statement, education authorities said that the school is presently functioning from rented building which is in good condition given the topography of the area and local architecture of houses in Gurez not from any cow-shed.
Local panchayat , statement said , was not able to identify suitable land for the construction of new school building which is already approved in plan despite repeated efforts of the department .
The work on the new building , statement said, will start immediately after land identification.
