Electricity restored, 600 wooden poles replaced in Khanyar : PDD

Srinagar: The Power Development Department (PDD) authorities on Thursday said that the electricity to all the affected areas in PDD division Khanyar was restored only on Wednesday, the very first day of snowfall.
In an official communiqué, Assistant Public Information Officer with Executive Engineer IV Khanyar, said that the department restored the power supply in Nowhatta, Fateh Kadel , Zadibal and Hawal , the most affected areas due to snowfall on 23-2-2022 and in almost all other areas falling within the jurisdiction of the division by the same evening.
The statement said that the department has replaced about 600 wooden poles under NAD scheme (phase I) and rest of the poles are to be replaced under the same scheme in next phase which is to be executed by RECPDCL which is in its final stage of award of contract.
It further added that for the scheme, the DPR, Revamping of Distribution Network (RDSS) is at its final stage where in almost all distribution Network will be improved in the said scheme in phased manners. “This will provide reliable & better power supply to the consumers,” the statement said.
