New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday said he has tested positive for Covid-19 and has isolated himself at home.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader appealed to those who came in touch with him in recent days to get themselves checked.
“I have tested positive for Covid. Mild symptoms. Have isolated myself at home. Those who came in touch with me in the last few days, kindly isolate yourself and get yourself tested,” he tweeted.
On Monday, Kejriwal held an election rally in Uttarakhand. He also had similar rallies in Amritsar and Patiala earlier.
Meanwhile, BJP MP Manoj Tiwari said he too had tested positive for Covid.
“I was feeling unwell since night… I have come out positive in the test today. I have isolated myself,” he said.
Delhi has reported a rising positivity rate with 4,099 new cases on Monday.
According to an official statement, the positivity rate in Delhi is 6.46 per cent. As many as 6,288 Covid-19 patients are in home isolation.
Delhi is on a ‘Yellow Alert’, the first level of restrictions under the Graded Response Action Plan.
Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain said 81 per cent of all Covid samples tested in Delhi are of the highly transmissible Omicron variant.
India has reported 1,892 cases of Omicron across 23 states and Union Territories. Delhi has reported 382 cases.
