2 JeM aides held in Pulwama: Police

Srinagar: Police on Monday said that two militant associates of Jaish-i-Muhammad (JeM) were arrested in South Kashmir Pulwama district.

A police spokesperson in a statement issued here said that based on specific information about the movements of “anti national elements”, Police with assistance of army’s 44 RR and 182 Bn CRPF arrested two JeM associate “involved in providing shelter, logistics and other support to the militants as well as in transporting of arms/ammunition and explosive material for the militants in Pulwama.”

He identified arrested duo as Adil Ali son of Ali Mohammad Bhat ofAchan and Asif Gulzar son of Gulzar Ah Dar of Hajidarpora.

“The arrested associates were in touch with JeM commanders and were involved in transportation of arms/ammunition & were providing other logistic support to strengthen militant network,” he said.

Incriminating material of JeM has been recovered from them, he said. “A case under relevant sections of law stands registered in Police Station Litter,” he said, adding, “Investigation has been taken up.”
