Ganderbal: Two persons including a 45-year-old man and a minor were injured on Monday afternoon after they were attacked by a wild bear in Dedrambagh area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.
An official said that two persons including a minor were injured after a wild bear attacked them in a nearby forest nursery. The injured persons were identified as Farooq Ahmad Khan, son of Akbar Khan and 9-year-old Furhan Ahmad Khan, son of Javiad Ahmad Khan—both residents of Gujar Bastii Dedranbagh Ganderbal.
The injured persons were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment, the official said.
Wildlife Ranger Feroz Ahmad said that a team of wildlife officials has been sent to the area to lay a trap and capture the wild animal as soon as possible.
Notably, on last Saturday, a 25-year-old shepherd identified as Bashir Ahmed Sheikh, son of Ghulam Nabi Sheikh of Dedrambagh Ganderbal was also attacked by a wild bear when he took his cattle out in the fields for grazing. (KNO)
