Srinagar: Though the Covid-19 positive cases are decreasing, over 57 percent of the active cases in Kashmir division are still from Srinagar district.
As per the data available till 14 October evening, of 724 active cases in Kashmir, 415 are from Srinagar that constitutes around 57.2 percent active cases from the summer capital.
In total there are 935 active cases in Jammu and Kashmir in which around 45 percent are from Srinagar alone.
In the whole Jammu division there are just 211 active cases, while in Kashmir only Srinagar district has 415 cases.
In Jammu division, Poonch has the highest active cases of 97 while as in rest of the districts activity cases are below 50 with 47 in Jammu, 23 in Reasi, 21 in Doda, 11 in Rajouri, three each in Udhampur and Kishtwar and two each in Kuthua, Samba and Ramban.
In Kashmir division Srinagar has 415 active cases followed by 93 from Baramulla, 83 from Budgam, 30 each from Kupwara and Ganderbal, 24 each from Pulwama, Anantnag and Bandipora, one from Kulgam and none from Shopian.
Notably, active cases during peak second wave were over 50,000 in entire J&K which have now reduced to below 1000. (KNO)
