Militant aide held for ‘drone-dropped AK-47

Jammu: Police on Tuesday said it arrested one militant aide from Anantnag in connection with recovery of one AK-47 rifle, a night vision and three magazines allegedly dropped by a drone at Phallian Mandal in Jammu on October 2.

“Irfan Ahmed Bhat son of Farooq Ahmed Bhat of Verinag Ananatag has been arrested in connection with the case,” SSP Jammu Chandan Kohli told GNS. He was arrested from Anantnag.
He claimed that the youth was touch with “Pak handler” is affiliated with Lashker-e-Toba militant outfit.
He said that a case (FIR no. 230/21) under section 120-B IPC, 7/25 Arms Act and 13,16,18,23 ULAP stands lodged in police station Satwari Jammu. Later in a tweet, ADGP Police Jammu said.
“He has confessed that he is in touch with handlers across and is associated with #LeT. He had come here to receive consignment (which already stands seized by Police, i.e one AK series rifle, 3 magazines, 30 rounds, and one optical sight).”  (GNS)
