New Delhi: India has registered 14,313 covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, the lowest since 244 days as per the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Tuesday.
“181 deaths have also been reported in the last 24 hours, whereas the recovery rate has touched 98.04 per cent, highest since March 2020,” stated the Ministry.
The active caseload is presently 2,14,900, which is the lowest in 212 days. Active cases presently constitute 0.63 per cent of the country’s total positive cases.
The Ministry said a total of 26,579 patients have been recovered in the last 24 hours taking the cumulative tally of recovered patients to 3,33,20,057.
“The daily positivity rate is 1.21 per cent, which is less than 3 per cent for the last 43 days, whereas weekly positivity rate is 1.48 per cent which remains less than 3 per cent for the last 109 days now,” the Ministry reported.
With the administration of 65,86,092 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage exceeded 95.89Cr (95,89,78,049) as per provisional reports till 7 am today.
“This has been achieved through 93,66,392 sessions,” it said.
Meanwhile, the testing capacity across the country continues to be expanded as a total of 11,81766 tests are being conducted in the last 24 hours, taking the total cumulative tally to over 58.50 crore.
The data suggested that more than 97 crore vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far through the direct state procurement category.
“More than 8.22 Crore balance and unutilized COVID Vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered,” the data added.
