Srinagar: Dozens of Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) workers hit the streets in Srinagar on Tuesday demanding safe accommodation for Panches and sarpanches and other activists.
Led by BJP spokesperson Altaf Thakur, the activists were holding tricolor and placards staged a sit in protest at Press Enclave on Residency road demanded safe protected accommodation for its workers, Panches and Sarpanches in Kashmir valley.
The BJP workers were shouting slogans against the J&K administration who according to them, failed to provide protected and safe accommodation for the political activists and workers.
They urged Lt Governor Monaj Sinha to take appropriate measures to provide safe protected accommodation for the BJP workers and activists immediately. “Lt Governor is not for Congress, Peoples Democratic Party or others only, he is also Governor for BJP” Thakur said.
The recent civilian killings in the valley has caused a psycho fear among the minorities and political activists demanding safe and protected accommodations.
