COVID-19: In Kashmir, Srinagar district reported over 55 percent positive cases in September

Srinagar: The Srinagar district has recorded over 55 percent positive cases in Kashmir region while the district has contributed around 45 percent positive cases to the total positivity rate of J&K in the month of September.

Data available with the news agency  (KNO) suggests that Srinagar has reported 1794 cases last month while as a whole Jammu division has reported just 777 cases in the same period.

“Of 3,234 cases reported in Kashmir in September, 1,794 were from Srinagar which means 55.47 percent cases were from Srinagar district alone. In whole J&K, out of 4,011 cases reported in last one month, Srinagar reported 44.72 percent of the total cases,” the figures reveal, adding that “In Kashmir division, Srinagar reported 1794 cases in last one month followed by Baramulla with 385 cases, Budgam 390, Pulwama 127, Kupwara 107, Anantnag 73, Bandipora 105, Ganderbal 186, Kulgam 59 and Shopian just eight cases.”

The data further states that in the same period, seven deaths were reported in Kashmir division which includes four from Srinagar and one each from Budgam, Bandipora and Ganderbal.

“In Jammu division, Jammu reported 152 positive cases, Udhampur 22, Rajouri 131, Doda 199, Kathua 18, Samba 14, Kishtwar 33, Poonch 41, Ramban 36 and Reasi 131,” the data reveals. “In same period, seven deaths were reported in Jammu division which includes two each from Jammu and Rajouri and three from Doda.”
